Spanish-to-English Editor

A shout-out to a Spanish-to-English editor to join our localization team! You're passionate about video and board games and have proven experience in editing narrative texts. It's a strong plus if you have experience in SP-EN literary/game translation or writing. You will be responsible for proofreading and editing in-game content (dialogues, descriptions, UI) and games marketing materials translated from French into English, ensuring tone, clarity, accuracy, grammar, consistency, tag alignment, and style.

Don't worry, you won't be thrown into the wild waters to survive: at all times, you will have direct contact with and gentle support from Riotloc's linguistic and production teams, as well as game developers.

The responsibilities would include:
  • do this

  • and this

  • and that

  • but not that

Requirements:
  • English: native proficiency.

  • Spanish: fluent proficiency.

  • Experience in editing narrative texts in US/UK English.

  • We'd really love to see your portfolio if you have it.

  • Understanding of video game terminology, genres, and gameplay mechanics, earned by at least a decade of gaming experience.

  •  Basic understanding of tags and coding.

  • Experience with MemoQ. It's a big advantage if you aren't seeing it in your nightmares.

  • Meticulous, scrupulous attention to detail.

  • And you can handle tight deadlines without panic — they happen.

  • Sensahuma and ability to retain humor and relatability in translated jokes and puns. No bonus points here — it's a must for every linguist in our line of work!

Not required but would be great:
  • Speak more than two languages.

  • Have worked as part of a game development team and know how game development works.

What we offer:
  • Payments according to your per word / hour rate.

  • A chance to work on diverse games for PC and consoles. Point of reference: https://www.riotloc.com/games

  • A passionate global team of legendary translators and developers.
